Explicit Consent Notice
Version 2026-09-21
Before Paff saves your plan, it asks for your explicit consent. This page is exactly what that consent covers. How Paff handles all of your data is in the separate Privacy Policy.
What you agree to
When you tap “I agree” in the app, you give your explicit consent for Paff to process your data about your smoking and quitting, which the law treats as health-related data (KVKK Art. 6; GDPR Art. 9(2)(a); Washington RCW 19.373 and similar US state laws), for the purposes below.
Which data
- Your smoking history and habits: how much and how long you have smoked, how soon after waking you used to smoke, your hardest hours, triggers and places, whether people around you smoke, your past quit attempts, and your confidence.
- Your reasons for quitting, including the optional preset “pregnancy” and any reason you write.
- What you record while quitting: logged moments with the urge, feeling, place and company, slips and what you write about them, daily mood and journal check-ins.
- Your conversations with the coach.
- The texts Paff’s AI writes from this data: your trigger map summary, plan, personal lines and reflections.
For what
- To store this data on Paff’s servers so your progress, map and plan are there every time you open the app.
- To build your trigger map and plan, and to write personal lines and reflections for you.
- To run the coach: your messages and the relevant parts of your data are sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate replies. Google does not use them to improve its products.
- To improve the coach: the publisher reads coach conversations and notes, identified only by your anonymous ID, to judge and refine how the coach responds. Your data is not used to train an AI model.
Where it goes
This data is stored in Google Cloud in the European Union and is processed by Google, including in the United States, for the coach. The providers and safeguards are listed in the Privacy Policy.
Your choice
- It is your decision. Nothing is pre-selected, and your answers do not leave your phone until you agree.
- Paff cannot work without it. Your map, plan, progress and coach all depend on this data, so the app cannot start if you do not agree.
- You can withdraw at any time by tapping Settings › Delete all my data. That stops the processing and deletes the data from Paff’s servers. Withdrawing does not affect processing that happened before.
