Terms of Service
Version 1.4 · Effective 7 October 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Paff mobile app ("Paff", "the App", "we", "us"). By installing or using the App you agree to them, together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where the two differ, these Terms apply to the extent the law allows. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who we are
Paff is published by the person named as the seller on Paff's App Store page. Contact: getpaff@gmail.com.
2. Who can use Paff
You must be 18 or older. Paff is for adults who want to stop smoking.
3. Premium: the yearly plan and the lifetime purchase
- Two ways to get Premium. The yearly plan is an auto-renewing subscription. The lifetime purchase ("Lifetime Access") is a one-time, non-renewing in-app purchase. Both unlock the same Premium features.
- Free week. If your Apple Account is eligible, the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Nothing is charged during the free week; unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the yearly price is charged when it ends.
- Renewal. The yearly plan renews automatically each year at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase (or when the free week ends) and at each renewal.
- Cancelling. You manage and cancel the yearly plan in your Apple Account's subscription settings, also reachable from Settings › Manage subscription in the App. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling during the free week ends it at the end of the week, without charge.
- Price. The price is the one shown on the purchase screen when you buy, in your App Store currency.
- Lifetime sale. The first time you decline an offer, Paff may offer Lifetime Access at a lower price for 24 hours. Each Paff profile is offered this sale once. The screen shows the regular price, the sale price and a countdown to the real end; after that the regular price applies.
- Payment. Apple takes the payment and is the seller of record. We never see your card details.
- Restoring. You can restore your purchase or your subscription on a new device from the purchase screen with the same Apple Account.
4. What "Lifetime Access" means
The yearly plan gives you the Premium features for as long as it runs. Lifetime Access means access for the operational lifetime of the Paff app. It is not the lifetime of the user, and it does not oblige us to run the App indefinitely; Sections 6 and 7 set its limits.
It covers every Premium feature available when you buy, plus later Premium features in the same product scope (for example new badges, new companion animations and improvements to existing features). A service with a materially different recurring cost, such as sessions with a human coach, is outside that scope and may be offered separately. We never remove a Premium feature you have paid for, except as described in Section 7.
5. Refunds and your right of withdrawal
- Refunds go through Apple. Apple takes the payment, and only Apple issues refunds. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides under its own policies. We do not make payments or refunds ourselves.
- Statutory withdrawal. Premium is digital content delivered as soon as you buy or your free week starts. Under Article 15(1)(ğ) of the Turkish Distance Contracts Regulation and the equivalent EU and UK rules, the statutory right of withdrawal ends once delivery starts with your consent.
6. Support commitment and discontinuation
- Support. We keep the App's core features working and ship the security updates needed to run on supported iOS versions for at least three years from a lifetime purchase, and for as long as a yearly plan runs. This is in addition to your statutory rights, including under the Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the EU Digital Content Directive 2019/770.
- Discontinuation. If we shut Paff down within three years of a lifetime purchase, or during a paid period of the yearly plan, we give at least 30 days' notice in the App and stop selling and renewing the yearly plan. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your data stays viewable in the App until the shutdown date and is then deleted.
7. The AI coach
- Provider. The coach depends on a third-party AI service, currently Google's Gemini. The current provider is always named in our Privacy Policy.
- Changes. We may change or replace the coach's provider, or discontinue the coach while the rest of the App keeps running, if the provider materially changes its price, terms or availability, stops the service, or if the cost per user becomes unsustainable at the price you paid. We give at least 30 days' notice in the App. Discontinuing the coach alone is not a discontinuation of the App.
- Nature. The coach is AI-generated text. It can be wrong, it is not a person, and it is not medical advice (Section 10).
8. Fair use
To keep the coach available to everyone:
- Free: a set number of coach sessions each week. The App shows where you stand.
- Premium: no weekly limit, subject to a daily fair-use ceiling that ordinary use does not reach; if you reach it, new sessions resume the next day.
- Never cut off. A coach session that has started always runs to its end; limits only affect starting a new one.
The current limits are shown in the App. We may adjust them as costs change, and we give notice in the App before any change that materially reduces what your purchase includes.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use the App through scripts, automation, modified clients or jailbreaks; do not try to get around the fair-use limits, extract the coach's instructions, access other people's data or harm the service; and do not break the law with it. We may suspend access that does any of this, without refund.
10. Not medical advice, not a crisis service
Paff is a self-help tool for people choosing to stop smoking. It is not a medical device, a treatment, a substitute for a doctor or counsellor, or a crisis service. Ask a doctor about medication or nicotine replacement. If you are in crisis, including thoughts of self-harm, contact emergency services now: 112 in Türkiye, 988 in the United States, 116 123 (Samaritans) in the United Kingdom.
11. Your data
How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Explicit Consent Notice. You can delete everything at any time from Settings.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the App, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here affects your non-waivable consumer rights.
13. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms in a way that affects your rights, we tell you in the App at least 30 days before the change applies. If you do not accept a material change you can stop using the App and cancel the yearly plan in your Apple Account; refund requests go to Apple, as in Section 5.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you live in a country whose consumer law gives you rights that a contract cannot take away, including EU member states and the UK, you keep those rights.
Please contact us first; most issues can be solved by email. Consumers in Türkiye may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Board (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) for their place of residence up to the monetary limit set each year, and to the Consumer Courts (Tüketici Mahkemesi) above it, after mandatory mediation where the law requires it. Consumers elsewhere may use their local consumer dispute body or courts.
